11Jun11

The Lord is My Shepherd begins the 23rd Psalm, pregnant words that fill the believer with hope and help.  The psalm concludes with All the days of my life…forever.  In between these bookends are the workings of the Shepherd on behalf of the sheep.  One who knows the voice of his Shepherd experiences this relationship with the Shepherd.  His Shepherd will make, lead, and restore; comfort, prepare, and anoint.  And He will do this for the lifetime of His own and beyond into eternity.

Today we recognize high school and college graduates.  These have completed a portion of their life’s work.  The rest of their lives are in front of them.  For those who know the Shepherd they have the prospect of help and hope.  Moreover, this is true for all of us.  Our lives can be lived with the assurance of His help that brings His hope.
